My beautiful new make-up bag...

It's actually a little sad how much I enjoy my new little make-up bag.
Mint, floral, and super organised, tell me what's not to love, ladies?!

After spying it over on Vivianna Does Make-up a few weeks back, and feeling utterly ashamed of my somewhat revolting old excuse for a make-up bag, I decided to hunt this beautiful Paul & Joe make-up bag down while we were in the beauty hall at Selfridges.
Somehow, a shopping trip intended for baby hat purchasing ended up in the beauty hall... don't judge me!

Although finding the Paul & Joe counter proved to be a somewhat stressful experience on a packed Saturday afternoon, let me tell you it was well worth it.

You know when you're a kid, and at the beginning of each term at school you get all excited about getting a new pencil case and filling it up with new stationary? (Someone please tell me I'm not the only one?!) Well, this is like the 'grown-up' version of that feeling, Vivianna definitely got it right when she described this as the 'filofax' of make-up bags.
I've been looking for a new make-up bag for SO long now, and I'm just the pickiest lady in the world so have been putting up with my old one until I found the perfect replacement.
I love this SO much I  actually cleaned up all my make-up and brushes before putting them all in... haha

The best thing about this gorgeous little bag, apart from it's pretty-ness is the organisation.
It has two removable pouches inside, one of which is see-through for quick access to those items you use most. I love the little pockets at the back for your brushes so they don't get damaged, a super important feature in my eyes, and rare to find in a make up bag.

I can't believe I've managed to blab on for so long about this...

Have you ever shopped in Paul and Joe? What's your make-up bag of choice?

Behind the scenes at my latest shoot...

Apologies for the poopy photo quality, I only had my Iphone camera with me!
Hey there kids!
I thought I'd share a few 'behind the scenes' type photos with you from the music video shoot I worked on this Tuesday. I'm not sure how much I can really tell you, it's usually fairly 'hush hush' with these types of things until they are released.

It was a pretty early start, as the MUA you are usually one of the first on set and then one of the last to leave (thank god for the copious amounts of Jelly Babies, chocolates and Haribo we were supplied with!).
The morning was fairly hectic; I did 3 dancers make-up looks, a girl and two guys.
I have to admit, I LOVE doing men’s make-up, I'd love to have a job just doing male models!

We slightly altered the make up for the afternoon shots, and then the rest of the afternoon was spent 'standing by'. This means you literally stand on set and run in to do touch ups in between takes. This can be kind of scary when you first start out, but I actually really like this part of the job now!
The dancers routine was fairly fast pace (hence blurry photos), so as you can imagine there was a lot of sweat to mop up, shine to cover up, and lipstick re-appling going on. Glamorous hey?!

There was such a great vibe at this shoot, I got to work with MUA Zoe Tatum-Rooney, a dance team from Pineapple Dance Studios, and choreographer Mark Battershall (he's worked with Kate Moss and Florence Welch to name drop a couple. You might know him from the Pineapple Dance Studio TV series).
I even worked with a couple of the girls I trained in make-up with, which was really nice.
I definitely want to be doing more music video shoots!

I've got a couple of other shoots to tell you about too, I've been so unorganized and not blogged about them yet!

My new Make-up Artist website...

Hey darlings,

it's an exciting day for me, my new make up artist website, alittlebeautyspot.co.uk went live today!

This is just a sneaky snapshop but I do hope you'll all go and take a look and tell me what you think?
If you know anyone who's planning on getting their make up done, please send them my way :)

Isolde

Nars Isolde instantly became my new favourite product the very first time I used it.
I wasn't even apply it on myself, I was doing a make-up look on a model for my new website (more on that soon), and so this was a cheeky little purchase for my make-up artist kit.
Of course I ended up dipping into it myself once I saw how stunning it was (it was bound to happen, don't judge me!).

The left shade is a gorgeous shimmery bronze-gold colour, perfect for Christmas time. I've been applying this all over the lid. Then I go into the crease with the right shade, a slightly darker, less shimmery bronze.
The great thing about this duo (apart from the fact that there's a mirror in the compact, why don't all products do this?!), is the pigmentation. You literally need the tiniest bit on your brush and you'll get a great colour pay off. I'm hoping this means Isolde will last a long time.
Both shades in this duo have undertones of orange in, which I wasn't expecting to like on myself, man was I wrong, it's all I've been wearing.

At £24 per duo, they certainly don't come cheap, but considering the single shadows are £17 each, doesn't this count as a bargain?!
This being my first ever Nars eyeshadow purchase, I can certainly see what all the fuss is about around bloggersphere, & personally I would definitely be willing to pay it again. The only problem now is that I literally want all the shades, greedy girl.

Now I've given into the whole Nars hype, I've got my eye on the Laguna bronzer (I know the whole world seems to have this) and the Copacabana highlighter, I think they'll both be making it onto my Christmas wish list.

Have you tried Nars Isolde before? What are your favourite Nars products? Please feel free to recommend me any other duo shades or products too :)

Youtube#8 What's in my make-up artist kit so far?

Hey guys,
after a few of you have asked if I'd film a video showing you what's in my make-up artist kit so far. So here we are! I hope you enjoy it :) I'm off to a cartoon museum now, what are you all up to today?

Youtube#7 Vlog catch up, Louise Constad make-up artist course

Morning everyone, Mondays' are tough huh?
We walked into work this morning. I love seeing London in the Autumn mornings, walking all along embankment, past Parliament and Big Ben, it's a pretty good way to wake yourself up in the morning.
I'm back in the office today, and it does feel a little strange not applying make-up to models hehe.
Anyway, if you missed my vlog last night over on my Youtube channel, here it is. I'm just blabbing on about my make-up artist course, I hope you enjoy it :)

Youtube#6 Vlog Louise Constad make-up artist training, day 1

Hey lovely readers, just a quick one because I am zonked, and I need to do my Vogue homework (geek).
I look so exhausted in this video, so sorry about that. I literally just got home and started filming, I haven't touched up my own make-up all day! Too busy practising on the models to even look in the mirror at myself.

I thought I'd do a little vlog each night of my Louise Constad make-up artist course to let you all know how it's all going.
The first day has been incredible, I feel like I've soaked up so much information my brain is fried. Early night for me I think! I literally can't wait to go back in tomorrow and learn more.
I'm planning on doing some tutorials for you guys, once I've got a bit more practising done and I feel like I'm actually good!

Have you ever done a make up course before?
