Muriel's Kitchen

On Friday night, the ladies and I agreed it was about time for a little catch up.
After deciding that our evening should consist of a dinner, wine & cake combo (wine for the girls, cake for me), we ended up in a lovely little place called Muriel's Kitchen.

We were gladly welcomed in from the rain and seated our soggy selves in a rather unusual spot, with pastel coloured chairs that hung from the ceiling and resembled swings.
Perfect for preggo little me, very comfortable indeed.

The inside of Muriel's is honestly every girls heaven as far as home interior goes. It's shabby chic all the way, it looks like something straight out of Pinterest.
Lovely little bird-cage lampshades hung above us, scented candles on our table, homemade cakes and a kitchen clock in the shape of a dog, that wagged it's tail with each tic!
I know I wish my kitchen looked like this (I'm sure I'd be a better cook if it did...). I don't think we could have picked a more perfect place for a cosey (sober) girls night.

Now, although I wouldn't particularly recommend the food (although please bear in mind that perhaps I am a little fussy at the moment),  it was a lovely girly hang out. We ended up staying for a good few hours chatting men, babies and life, over giant pieces of red velvet and fresh berry cakes.

I'd definitely say it's worth nipping in for a coffee & slice of home made cake, or a glass of wine.

Cowshed spa

Yesterday, I decided to treat myself for getting through the first 5 months of preggo-ness, and have a private sober-celebration after finding out if baby Michalak is a he or she.

I visited the Cowshed Spa for the first time, and the whole experience was perfection. You're not supposed to take photos, but in true beauty blogger style I snuck a couple for you... shhh!

Firstly I must say, I absolutely loved the super stylish decor in there. Jars of lavender & little wooden boxes of moss sit on the worktops to display Cowsheds' latest offerings, crisp white towels are rolled up perfectly next to vintage TV sets with headphones that you can use if you fancy watching a bit of TV while you have your treatment done.
You sit in a big squishy white leather armchairs & have a v shaped pillow propped on your lap, so you don't need to move at all. Honestly I was so comfortable could have fallen asleep in there!
To top it all off the Cowshed Candles make the whole spa smell simply divine.

I had a 'speedy manicure' (30 minutes) and opted for a French manicure style (not to everyones taste I know). A lovely lady named Katie did my nails, and man, she did a perfect job! 30 minutes for a frenchie is pretty impressive, don't you think ladies?! If anyone is interested the colours I chose were both Essie, 'marshmallow' for the off-white and 'mademoiselle' for the natural pink.
Out of the handful of Cowshed products she used on me, I particularly like their hand cream and cuticle oil.

I've definitely got my eye on a few of the spa treatments, they even do special selection of treatments for preggos like me, 'Udderly Gorgeous Maternity Treatments'.
I also couldn't help but notice they also have a range for the little one when he/she arrives too. I melted when I saw the little cow towel and bottom balm, I'm pretty sure our little one is going to have to have those.

The whole Spa experience was perfect, from the service to the outcome, a lovely quiet and relaxing atmosphere with tasteful music. I definitely want to book in another treatment soon for another treat :)

Have you ever had a treatment at a Cowshed Spa?

Youtube A weekend vlog | Fat pregnant legs

I suppose this vlog isn't really very pregnancy related at all, but it was such a lovely weekend, and we'd been filming so I though you guys might like a nosey. Let me know if you like it :)

You can see my other Youtube videos here, Instagram here and Twitter here.

Photo diary #21 A little catch up...

My hair is finally growing | Sohos hidden tea room | Fish and chips in the sun | Hyde Park at sunset | Sunbathing on our balcony | Sunbathing at Shoreditch House | Scap-book making | Inside Tramshed steakhouse

Since we got back from America, the last few weekends have been fairly low key, so I haven't been doing my usual weekend posts. I just thought I'd catch you up on some things I've been up to. It seems like a lot but it's been over the course of about a month...

Stef and I had a very British day consisting of visting Sohos hidden tea-room for a lovely cup of English Breakfast tea, followed by some fish and chips in the sunshine on the balcony at Soho House, yum! We spent that evening having an impromptu stroll around Hyde Park as the sun was setting, and snuggled up on the deck chairs in the park for a hot chocolate.
Copious amounts of sunbathing has also been going on this past few weeks, and we've been spending our Saturdays on the rooftop at Shoreditch House (you're not supposed to take photos but I managed to sneek a couple for you), we've even had a little picnic up there :)
Yesterday we started making a scrap-book with all the photos and little bits we've collected since we've been together, it's so cute!
Lastly, we dined in the Tramshed in Shoreditch, a very cool steakhouse with a model cow suspended in water in the centre of the restaurant, random huh?

What's been your favourite way to spend the weekends recently?

Oh, and hello to all you new readers :) Xx

Kate Spade

I have a new baby, and I'm utterly in love.
Meet my new 'Charlotte Street Angela' handbag by the wonderful Kate Spade.

My fiance spoilt me (once again) when we were browsing around Westfields last weekend. I am one lucky little lady! Thank you :)

I LOVE the bright yellow, I tend to wear a lot of black and white so this little one will certainly brighten me up, and is the perfect bag to take to Vegas this month.
I also tend to carry a heck of a lot of things around with me (anyone else do that?!), so I'm hoping that this will help me downsize!
It's my perfect summer clutch, or daytime handbag.

Have you ever fallen in love with a handbag? I seem to be falling hard and fast pretty often these days...

Love Brunch

Hey there kids, have you all enjoyed the sunshine this weekend? We certainly made the most of it :)

On Saturday we headed over to the beautiful Kensington Roof Gardens, for the monthly summer party, Lovebrunch.

Fancy fruity cocktails, a DJ and sunshine, all surrounded by flowers and streams on the rooftop. What more could you want from the daytime party?!

I may have over estimated how hot it was going to be, but I was desperate to showcase this cute white play suit, what do you think of it? I love it :)

I'd definitely recommend it if you're in London looking for some summertime fun. It sells out pretty quickly though, as you can imagine, so it's best to make sure you book your tickets early!

Photo diary #20 The things that no one else sees

An afternoon in the hammock | Learning whilst drinking :) | New coffee maschine | Cupcakes in Clapham | Prosecco in the sunshine | The Jam Tree flowers | Widge enjoying the coffee maschine box

Guess what? We've booked a trip to Las Vegas next month... aaahhhhh!!
I'm beyond excited as I have neer been to America before.
After a couple of days in Vegas we're planning on driving to LA, California and maybe San Diego too. I can't wait to blog about it, I've always wanted to do a little American roadtrip. And all with my best buddy :)
Being a women though, naturally I had a total melt down about my holiday wardrobe. Therefore Saturday meant FIVE HOURS in Selfridges...  fewf! We had to have wine breaks to de-stress from the chaos. I'm pretty sure Stefan wanted to kill me more than once.
I picked up a couple of really nice bits though (I have a super generous fiance, thank you!) from All Saints (possibly my most favourite shop ever) and Ted Baker. I don't really do outfit posts, I'm so awkward on camera, but I might do a couple of posts on them if you fancy it?

On Sunday, after a much needed morning coffee from the shiney new coffee maschine, we went to the usual breakfast haunt for pancakes and omelettes. It was super sunny by the time we finished, so we took a stroll around Clapham common and ended up in The Jam Tree garden sipping prosecco.

My afternoon consisted of  basking in the sunshine on our hammock (with more prosecco, the sun came out, don't judge me!) and swatting up on my driving skills.

Oh, I've got a couple of reviews lined up, lip products and my new favourite candle... lots going on before America :)

How did you spend this weekend? If you have an recommendations for good places or things to do in Vegas and America, do leave me a comment :)

Photo Diary #19 love you 'til the end

\
I said bye bye to long hair | A quick espresso in Clapham | Huge deer in Richmond park | Picnicing with my favourite person | Cocktail Safari 1 | Cocktail Safari 2 | Enjoying my champagne and pear concoction | Dinner in Mews of Mayfair | English Tea on Primrose Hill

I'm a little late with this post, but last weekend was quite possibly my favourite weekend this year so far, so I thought I'd still share a few snaps with you lovely lot...

If you were in London last Saturday you'll know the sun popped out. Sunshine on a Saturday?! Well done London, very well done!
On Saturday morning, I had all my long hair chopped off.
Surprisingly, I really love it, sometimes change can be good :) I wish I'd been brave enough to do it before. What do you think? Do you prefer it this way, or when I had it long?

After  having the chop, I jumped on the Vespa with Stefan and we scooted to Richmond park. We settled down with a rug and a picnic down by the lake and basked in the sun. Saying it was relaxing really doesn't do it justice, I forget how much I love the feel of the sun on my skin :)

The evening consisted of a 'Cocktail Safari', although we only made it to a couple of bars, one of which being Polo, one of my favourite cocktail bars in central London. We had dinner and drinks in a really cute little place called Mews of Mayfair. It's a great all rounder; a restaurant, bar on the top floor, and a club in the basement. I'd definitely recommend it, I'll have to do a proper post on it next time I go.

On Sunday we had a quiet one, just scooting to Primrose Hill in north London for a little stroll and a Sunday roast. I would have put some photos up, but they really would't do Primrose Hill justice, you really must go and see it for yourself if you ever get the chance. A spectacular view of London.

Did you all enjoy that little splash of sun last weekend?

Behind the scenes at my latest shoot...

Apologies for the poopy photo quality, I only had my Iphone camera with me!
Hey there kids!
I thought I'd share a few 'behind the scenes' type photos with you from the music video shoot I worked on this Tuesday. I'm not sure how much I can really tell you, it's usually fairly 'hush hush' with these types of things until they are released.

It was a pretty early start, as the MUA you are usually one of the first on set and then one of the last to leave (thank god for the copious amounts of Jelly Babies, chocolates and Haribo we were supplied with!).
The morning was fairly hectic; I did 3 dancers make-up looks, a girl and two guys.
I have to admit, I LOVE doing men’s make-up, I'd love to have a job just doing male models!

We slightly altered the make up for the afternoon shots, and then the rest of the afternoon was spent 'standing by'. This means you literally stand on set and run in to do touch ups in between takes. This can be kind of scary when you first start out, but I actually really like this part of the job now!
The dancers routine was fairly fast pace (hence blurry photos), so as you can imagine there was a lot of sweat to mop up, shine to cover up, and lipstick re-appling going on. Glamorous hey?!

There was such a great vibe at this shoot, I got to work with MUA Zoe Tatum-Rooney, a dance team from Pineapple Dance Studios, and choreographer Mark Battershall (he's worked with Kate Moss and Florence Welch to name drop a couple. You might know him from the Pineapple Dance Studio TV series).
I even worked with a couple of the girls I trained in make-up with, which was really nice.
I definitely want to be doing more music video shoots!

I've got a couple of other shoots to tell you about too, I've been so unorganized and not blogged about them yet!
