What's in my handbag? #February

I've seen this post knocking around on a few of your blogs, so I thought what the heck... here are some of the things I'm lugging around with me this month...

Bag- Zara This is my current 'go to' handbag when I'm not using my Aspinal. It has tons of room and goes with everything. Oh, and I'm kind of enjoying people mistaking it for a Prada too.

Vogue - for some reading on the tube. I love checking out all the make up in the adverts, looking at the stunning models, and coveting over the beautiful designer things. I just can't help myself...

Fur Headband -  (Sweaty Betty) This literally hasn't left my head since I bought it. I kinda wish I had been born with this attached to my head. It's so warm and snuggley, perfect for this crazy weather at the moment. And perfect for my first ever ski trip later this year (Rosie Huntington has the matching ski onsie, so it must be cool, right?!).

Nars Laguna - Although I don't love this bronzer, I do love the gigantic mirror, perfect for on the go touch ups!

Essie Ballet Slippers - My current favourite, I'm keeping it handy incase of chipping, you know how it is ladies.

Kindle- At the moment im reading Treasure Yourself by supermodel Miranda Kerr. Yes my obsession with her grows each day...

What do you carry in your handbag?

Oh, and I have a cheeky 'behind the scenes' of my latest shoot coming up for you tomorrow, excited?!

Youtube#5 What's in my handbag?

I finally got around to making another video for you guys, sorry it's been so long! Yes, it's the ever famous 'What's in my handbag' tag. I am always so late to jump on the bandwagon aren't I?! I did rant on for a while, sorry folks. Also, sorry about the hangover face and 3 day old hair. Yes, I am a skank. It's been one of those days wear the PJs haven't come off yet. Hence the last shot in my video, spotty PJ alert! Don't judge me.

What have you beautiful people been up to this weekend?
On Saturday Stef and I had a private tennis coach for an hour. I felt kind of sorry for him because my  skills are laughable, so he had his hands full, but that means I can only get better, right? After tennis I had a lovely catch up with a few of my uni buddies, we went to Gordans' Wine Bar (the oldest wine bar in London) on the Embankment. It's like a little underground cave, definitely recommend it if you like that kind of thing.
On Saturday night, Stef and I went to our favourite local pub in Clapham, where we gorged on hotdogs, pizza and red wine. We stayed up until 2am geeking out over this snowboarding movie. It's pretty crazy stuff, most of the shots don't even look real to me. It's absolutely stunning though, and makes me so excited go go snowboarding in the new year. Do any of you snowboard or ski?

Today all I've done is organise my wardrobe (yes, I like it to be in order) and film this video. I'm pretty nervous about my make-up artist course tomorrow, I'm just going to try and soak up as much as possible, wish me luck!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video. Have you done this tag? Leave your links below if you have :)

Gunmetal

Hey guys, how are you all doing today?
Last night my instead of having a super early night (like I've been planning to all week), my boyfriend and I ended up playing tennis for 2 HOURS. I did strop through the first hour though, and apparently I stick my bum out when I'm stropping?! But, look at me getting all sporty, who would have thought, eh?! I'm doing hot yoga tonight in this gorgeous yoga studio by my office, (I know, on a Friday night, who does that?!). I'm wondering if I can get away with wearing my false eyelashes? I'm not sure if the heat will melt the glue and then I'll just end up looking like a total mess? HELP!!
I've got a personal post for you tomorrow, kind of nervous about it, so please be nice :)

Anyhoo, meet my new favourite 'go to' black varnish for winter. Gunmetal  As worn by my girl crush Mills Mackintosh. This is a rich black shade with silver pearl running through it. It's kind of metallicy, and I just think it's really grungy and cool. I really like the formula for this, I'm wearing 2 layers, but you can definitely get away with one. The only bad thing was that it chipped after 2 or 3 days, not ideal, but perhaps this was because I was too lazy to add a topcoat?
Hope you all have a great weekend :)

Red Bikini

I wish the title of this post meant me in a red bikini, sunning it up somewhere tropical. Sadly not...

By now, you must all know I'm a complete nail varnish whore. My favourite shade literally changes weekly. This week, it's Red Bikini by Revlon. I got this in my goody bag from the Millie Mackintosh eyelash party, and I absolutely couldn't be more in love with it.

It's a bright red with an orange tone to it. I know it's not really what we would call an 'Autumnal shade', but it's my new obsession. Red/Orange never goes out, right?
I actually really rate Revlon for nail varnishes now, they come in a generous sized pot and have a great formula.

Will you be trying 'Red Bikini?' What's your favourite nail varnish at the moment?

Celebrity Bash

I've only just realised that I've been holding out on you guys.
I still haven't introduced you to my favourite Autumnal nail polish. Meet 'Celebrity Bash'. Rimmel isn't normally a brand I go to for nail varnish, (I'm Barry Ms' biggest fan) but every winter I come running back to this shade.
I like to wear it with just one coat and a top coat, so it's a gorgeous raspberry kind of shade, and I think it looks really great with a tan (more on that later). Sometimes I pop another coat on top if I want more of a darker wintery look. I do find with one coat it chips a lot easier, but I'm willing to sacrifice this, I just love the shade so much.
The brush in this polish is my fav, I have quite fat nails, this sounds weird. I mean, wide I guess? Anyway you can see from the photos. The brush is large and thick, so spreads over quite a lot of my nail, meaning it's pretty quick for me. Oh, I know this is really lame, but I really enjoy the name of this varnish too... told you it was lame.
Have you tried celebrity bash? What are your favourite Autumn nail varnish shades?

I've just settled down at my desk today with my cosey cardy and a tasty caremel macchiato, yum! I do enjoy a good Starbucks on a crisp Autumn morning, I do!! Oh, and excuse the lack of lipstick and the helmet hair wont you??
Anyway, I've been thinking about deleting some of my older posts, I find them a little embarrassing, messy and just don't really like them.
I had a little conversation on twitter with Jessica (go and check out her beauty and lifestyle blog, its really cute) about it. We came to the conclusion that it's kind of nice for readers to go back to older posts and see how far your blog has come, and how much it's changed.

I guess it's okay not to be brilliant at something, and not really know what you're doing when you first start out. That's one of the things I love about blogging and the blogging community, every one is always striving to improve. There's so much ambition, and that's really inspiring. I know I always look at other peoples' blogs and compare mine to theirs, but that just makes me pleased for them that they're doing so well, and it only makes me strive to improve. What do you think about it all? Have you ever been tempted to delete older posts to make your blog appear better?

Oh, if you follow my blog, don't forget to enter my Topshop giveaway, 4 days left to enter, good luck!

Wherever you go, there will be love.

Hello darlings, my day so far has mostly involved caffine, reading all your darling blog posts, a sneaky nap that snuck up on me, and of course these gorgeous little polka-dot nails.
I'm not sure if I'll be posting for the next couple of days, I'm packing up to move in with the mister tomorrow. Then we might try and get out of the city this weekend, perhaps in the countryside at Goldaming or maybe France (a 30 minute drive away, why not?!).

Anyway, nails. Polka-dot nails, an oldy but good, yes ladies? You don't need any fancy-smanshy nail art pens or transfers to re-create this look, no siree!! Just grab your 2 favorite varnishes, a top coat, and off you go...
1. Apply 2 coats of your base colour, wait to dry completely. (I used 'Milkshake' by Topshop)
2. Take your 2nd colour and use the very tip of the brush to create little round dots. Don't overload the brush with varnish, it's easier if you don't have much to work with. (I used Nail Tip Whitener by Rimmel)
3. Wait for all the dots to dry completely.
4. Apply a clear top coat to avoid chips. (I used Forever Strong Pro by Maybelline). TADA!!

Milkshake

Happy Friday lovelies!
I hope you've all had a swell week?
Mine has been nice and relaxed. Lots of nights in with my mister, and I had a juicy catch up and pizza night with my gorgeous friend Laura too.

Seeing as it has been such a lovely sunny day in London and I'm heading out for some canoeing tonight (yes, you heard me right!), I thought I needed a nice new summery shade for my nails.
Cue 'Milkshake' by Topshop.
I painted on two coats, but you could definitely get away with just the one. This is my new favorite for sure, it's the perfect babydoll pastel pink and such a nice consistency. Plus, it makes you look more tanned than you actually are, bonus!

Yesterday, I found this quote...
"Sometimes we feel guilty about spending money on ourselves; we feel like we're being self indulgent or ridiculous. The truth is YOU ARE YOUR OWN BEST IVESTMENT".
I decided that this meant I should buy shoes.
I've been perving over these Topshop brogues for a couple of weeks now, and finally decided to hell with it, and purchased them today. They're super cute, huh? I can’t wait to wear them this weekend in the sun. Oh, I also got these cute vintagy lacy pants, I know it’s a little weird showing you my pants, but hey ho!

Have a fabulous weekend :)

Celestrial and Ice Crush

Another nail polish post!? What can I say, I like my polishes. I do, I do.
Meet Topshop nail polishes  'Celestial' and 'Ice Crush'.
These were one of those 'purchasing just for the sake of it' moments.
I feel like this is a little bright compared to some shades I've been wearing recently, but saying that, it has really grown on me. What do you think?

I am really liking the formula of Topshop nail polishes, I applied two coats of 'Celestial' (the blue shade), but could have gotten away with just one.
I then applied 'Ice Crush' (clear silver glittery polish) over the top on one random nail. I think 'Ice Crush' will look cute over any other colour too, particularly pastel colours.

At £6 a pop, these little beauties are more on the pricy side of high-street brands, but I'm quite happy to pay this nice mid-way price for a decent nail polish. The range of colours is fantastic and the formula is great, I always feel like I need to own more of them.

Blue Moon

This is my current nail obsession. And I mean OBSESSION.

Every time I think about applying a new colour, I always seem to go running back to Blue Moon by Barry M like a complete crack addict. I’m even carrying it around with me in my handbag right now. Seriously, I think I have a problem.

I love this shade so much, it’s so light and summery, and brings out your tan too.

I'll be totally honest though, I’m not the biggest fan of their formula.
I think Barry M have changed there formula and it isn't anywhere near as good as it used to be, some of the shades are very watery. Has anyone else noticed this?
I remember the good old days where you'd only need one coat.
I had to apply about 3 layers of Varnish to get the desired colour. Time consuming, yes, but I'm in love. It happens.

Anyhoo, if you like it as much as me you can buy it HERE for a barginous £2.99.
