For Hair That Never Grows Past Certain Length...

A couple of months ago, I had my hair all chopped off. I've never had my hair cut short before, so it was a really nice change for me. Whilst I absolutely loved it at the time, I'm now missing my long hair like a crazy lady. I'm so, SO desperate for it to grow.

Short hair has been great and everything, but I've found it's so much more effort than long hair. I can't really get away with not straightening or styling it, and I miss having long wavy hair :( Hair that you can get away with wearing messy and just chucking in a bun on the top of your head when you get home. All I have right now is a stumpy ponytail, sob.

The first stop to try and encourage my hair to grow, has been this Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment. I've been using this every day, as instructed, in-between washing and conditioning my hair.
The one thing I absolutely LOVE about this product is the smell. It's absolutely divine and I love using in combination with my coconut shampoo and conditioner. Mmmmm.
I will say it has definitely improved the over-all condition of my hair, it feels full of body and very smooth & silky after I've used it.

Now for the negatives. I'll be honest, I don't really think I've had any real hair growth from this product, and I actually do think it's a little mis-leading, as it makes out to be some kind of miracle worker!
It also says to use an egg sized amount on your hair each time you use it, so as you can imagine, the tub runs out pretty quickly. At £8 a pop, I think that’s pretty bad for a high street product.

Over all, alhough I'm not sure this product actually works that well for me hair-growth wise, but I would re-purchase it again purely for the gorgeous smell (is that bad?) and the lovely condition it puts my hair in after I use it. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone looking for hair growth results though…

Have you tried Lee-Staffords Hair Growth Treatment before?
Have you got any hair growth products you can recommend, or just some tips for me?

  1. I've tried this and thought exactly the same thing, but I wasn't keen on the smell either. I didn't repurchase as it didn't help with my hair growth at all. macadamia is the BEST hair mask I've ever use and helps to really condition my hair, it helps avoid the split ends which is the things that makes hair appear shorter. I'd definitely recommend trying!

  2. I bought this and totally agree with you. I love the smell and it leaves my hair feeling lovely and soft but I haven't noticed any real improvement in the actual growth. I cut my hair really short when I was 18 and I was like you, loved it at first but soon missed my long waves! So I've been trying to grow it back ever since.

  3. You should try moroccanoil. My hair was a bob and irritated me. After using this for about six months I have hardly any split ends and hair past my bra strap!

  7. I used to always use this and I agree, it didn't really help my hair to grow but it was a nice treatment. I've since switched to the Lee Stafford Argon Oil treatment which I find it incredible. Again, my hair hasn't dramatically lengthened over night but it's in the best condition it's ever been in!

  8. I've been dying to try this for a while. My hair is at that awkward length where it sits on my shoulders and flicks out. After reading this I'm not sure, I've seen mixed reviews about it. Then again, I can't resist a good smelling product! Thanks for sharing.

  9. I've now heard a couple of people say that they don't think it make any difference to growth time. My hair grows so so slowly so it would be fantastic if this did work! Ah well, the search goes on!

  10. Hey - I haven't use this actual product but I have used Lee Staffords Hair Growth Shampoo and Conditioner and must say I have seen a magnificent amount of hair growth. I have had short hair for about five years now - with one side shaved and had it many different colours - blonde, brown, purple, pink, platinum and I love the boldness, but also wish for long hair to do fishtails, buns etc. My hair has never really seem to grow quickly which has given me no end of frustration - My friend suggested the shampoo and conditioner and my hair has grown maybe an inch in the past month or two - which is amazing for me! My hairdresser has commented on it. I use them both every 2-3 days. I've run out of the shampoo now (always wash my hair twice, much better) and would definitely purchase again as soon as I can. It might be worth giving these a try rather than what you have used previously?

  11. Hey Hannah,
I've never used the treatment, but I've regularly bought the Hair Growth Shampoo and Conditioner, and I truly believe it works! My hair grows quite well anyway, but it seriously seems to increase it. Last May, my hair was a pixie cut, and only one year later, it's practically shoulder length! I agree with Emily, it may definitely be worth giving these a try instead? But definitely give it a couple of weeks of use to decide what you think!
Good luck! :) (and hang in there!)

  12. I completely agree with you on this product! I'll give them a bloody egg ;) I grew my hair by having regular trims ever 8-9 weeks and trailing lots of leave in conditioners - hope this helps :) x

  13. Hi Hannah, I have used this a couple of years ago and it does eventually seem to work, teamed with using loreal mythic oil on ends to prevent breakages and I also found that washing my hair as little as possible helped to grow it! Also, invest in a boar hair brush as they are so gentle on your hair and stimulates the hair follicles! Good luck! X

  15. I used the hair growth treatment and it took a few tubs to before it started to work but then my hair grew like crazy! I've also heard lots of good things about the Rene Furterer shampoo and conditioner so I'm planning to try that soon :) x

  16. I've heard alot about this. I don't think anything makes your hair grow, but the healthier you keep it, the better condition and stronger it will be once it grows back. I think you were so brave to cut it all off, I'd miss me so much, short hair looks incredible on you though! Really suits you xxxx
