Clarins HydraQuench Cream moisturiser

After using some cheaper skincare for a little while I thought my face could do with a little treat. So along came Clarins HydraQuench CreamAt £34 a pot, I'd definitely class it as a more high end facial moisturiser, and I was excited to try it.

I'm not really sure how much I like the  consistency of this for a face moisturiser. It's quite thick and heavy, and although it sinks into the skin quickly, I felt like I'd like it to be a little lighter. Especially when I'm using it before I got to bed.

It has a gentle scent, I'm so funny about the smells of things but this is so subtle, so it passed by my standards :)
One good thing about this, is that it makes a nice smooth, nourished base for foundation. My skin does really feel really quenched after it has sunk in.

Although I did like this moisturiser once I got used to the consistency, unfortuntley my skin didn't agree with it at all.
After using it for a couple of days, I woke up to a rather large pimple outbreak on my forehead *sobs* It actually lasted for a couple of days, until I stopped using this. I was NOT a happy bunny. I've never ever had a pimple outbreak on my forehead before, not even as a teenager.
I know it could only have been this, as I haven't changed anything else in my skincare routine or diet (on a side note- if your interested in a blog post on my skincare routine, do let me know in the comments).
I've personally never had a bad skin reaction to a moisturiser before, I don't have sensitive skin at all. So I was left a little disappointed.

I've used clarins moisturisers before and really loved them, my particular favourite is the HydraQuench Gel  (which smells absolutely divine),so perhaps I'll stick to this one from now on!

So, although I did like this, I wouldn't really recommend it for the price, and I'd definitely stay clear if you have sensitive skin.

Have you tried Clarins moisturisers before? Do you have any high end moisturisers you can recommend for me?

I hope you're all having lovely weekends so far? I got my hair cut and coloured this morning and I'm really happy with it. When I'm feeling a little more photogenic I'll show you :)

  4. I like the Clarins daily energiser moisturiser! It's the range for younger skin so didn't break me out, I really want to try a new one though xx

  5. I swear by Clinique moisture surge intense. It's amazing. But only the intense one, the original is rubbish and hasn't done my skin any favours. xx

  7. I've heard about this before but when I tried a sample it was too small to justify splurging! I'm a bit iffy now though, I'm prone to break outs on my forehead and don't fancy another happening! x
