PORE fessional

POREfessional, worth the hype? Absolutely.

Now, I don't think I have particularly large pores to begin with, but when one of my friends popped this in the post for me I thought what the heck, I'll give it a go, see what all the fuss is about.
I'm usually not fussed about Benefit products, I find them very overpriced and disappointing (please don't hate me, Benefit fans).

I apply this as my primer after I've moisturized, with my fingertips, starting with my T-zone and then to the rest of my face.
Benefit say you can apply it over the top of your make-up as well, I haven't tried that yet, it seems a little strange to me! I suppose that's more if you want to reduce the look of your pores?!

This makes my make up stay put throughout a whole working day and into the evening, it's great to stop it sliding, and means I have to touch up less.
I think my favourite thing about this product is the silky consistency, makes your skin feel super duper soft. I just want to stroke my face everytime I've finished applying it (weirdo...)
It is slightly scented, but nothing overpowering, I hate using highly scented products on my face.

I would have shown you what it looks like on, but it literally just disappears into your skin, creating a smooth base for your foundation.

It's quite pricey at £23.50, but I've used it every day for a couple of months now, so it's lasted fairly well. I know lots of people don’t really see primers as an essential in their make-up bag, but this really does help your make up stay put.

Have you tried POREfessional? What's your favourite primer?

  3. I tried this and really hated it so I gave it to my sister. It didn't help my pores, just made them more visible and looked horrible. I love normal primers though, just not the coloured ones.
I love Benefit blushers but yes, they are totally over-priced.

  6. I've been using a MAC Prep & Prime Skin Base for about two weeks now, I'm trying to get back into priming and its pretty good for making my face last on my cheeks - but not so much my t-zone and chin? I've dry skin with an increasingly oily t-zone and chin, do you think this would work for both areas? Or a combination of the both?

Thanks for a lovely in-depth review Hannah :) Hope you're back to feeling yourself!

  9. I absolutely adore this product chick. Ever since I got a freebee from GLAMOUR mag last year, I made the teeniest sample sized bottle ever, last months! Don't ask me how! I'm so the same as you though - couldn't stop touching my face! SO SOFT. When I'm paid I will definitely be investing in a full-sized tube! Great review chick xxxx

  11. I always use it over make up :) when I apply BB cream, the areas at either side of my nose go a bit shiny and my pores are quite visible - using it over the top gives a more matte finish ! X

  12. i feel the same - benefit products tend to disappoint me. except for their blushes. i'm glad to hear you were pleasantly impressed with this, hopefully when i have some extra cash i'll be able to splurge on this in the future ;)

  14. I first tried a little sample tube of this a couple of months ago and it really does help your foundation glide on over the top and like you say it leaves your skin feeling silky smooth! However I didn't see the benefit of it (pun not intended) it just didn't really seem to do anything and so for me it's not really worth the hype or money :( I really wanted to amaze me too so I was a little disappointed! x

  17. I tried this when i got the sample in a magazine and couldnt get on with it - but i dont think i gave it a good enough go! Like you, i often think Benefit is overpriced - i often think you pay for the packaging although I really want to try their Dallas bronzer! Must give this another go - its been sitting in my makeup drawer for a while just begging for a second try and ive heard some fabulous reviews recently! xx

  18. I agree, I think Benefit products are so pricey but I'm an absolute sucker for their packaging! Because they were the first expensive make-up brand I tried, I think I feel a certain fondness towards them which keeps me coming back to their products. I do love this primer though, it always gives me a great base to put my make-up over :)

  20. I tried this when it was a freebie in the glamour magazine, I liked that it made my skin feel so soft but I don't know whether I like it enough to buy a full sized on. I think it would work better if I did have slightly large pores so I could notice the difference.

  21. I have a sample of this, but I can't review it yet because every time I apply it I forget to look at my face for the rest of the day. FAIL.

  27. I have this and love it! Have to agree with you though, most of the time there products aren't worth the money they ask. Nonetheless I almost always fall for their packaging and end up purchasing a few products which leave me disappointed, but the primer is amazing! xxx
